A lawnmower can cost more than a hundred bucks. So can an edger, not to speak about a string trimmer. This wouldn’t be a problem if you’d get great value for that price. Unfortunately, more often than not, you end up with a product you don’t want.
And a couple of hundred dollars short. The Black + Decker MTC220 3-in-1 is one of those life-savers you didn’t know exist. First of all, its price is just a little more than $100. Second of all, it’s three tools in one.

Overview
Considering the price and the array of features, one couldn’t say this is a bad deal if he was held at gunpoint. Remember that if you bought each product individually, you’d pay thrice as much, which is no small thing. Most of us are shopping on a budget.
As you might expect, you can use this as a edger, lawnmower or trimmer. The transformation is fairly easy. In the case of the lawnmower, you just need to attach the deck.
To use the edger, you turn the guard with the string to 1800 degrees. With other words, this is a trimmer that accepts a variety of accessories and nothing more.
The battery provides decent power and an extended period of use before recharging.
I’m pretty sure that in other circumstances, transforming this into the needed tool would be a problem. However, this is so simple that children could do it, which adds up to the perk basket.

I’m positive that you’d be skeptical, and you’d think that the quality lets a great deal to be desired, but that’s not half-true. The tool does its job in any of the three modes it works on, which is fine by me.
The price is what I like best. I’m in no position to buy a lawnmower, a trimmer, and an edger, and to be honest, I wouldn’t even if I had the money.
What We Don’t Like
What I don’t like is the fact that this looks quite flimsy at first glance. I was having second thoughts on whether I should hit “Order” or not. It looks like something you’d get from a flea market.
However, when you get the product, you see that it’s sturdy and surprisingly well-made for the price. Black + Decker takes itself seriously, and people do so, too, since they’re one of the very few companies that actually care about the wallets of their customers.
Another downside would be the fact that it doesn’t work for larger yards. First of all, the battery doesn’t last that long. Second of all, it’s not extremely efficient on higher grass.
Buying Advice
I think there’s no way I’m exaggerating when I’m saying that 90% of customers nowadays are looking for free shipping. Maybe it’s the economy, personal preference or a combination of the two.
If you’re aiming towards free shipping, then I advise you to get this from Amazon. Moreover, if you surf the site, you’ll see that you can buy this product as corded or cordless, with about $60 difference in price.

I think that’s another perk. Some people have a burning hate towards cordless trimmers. I’m not a lover of them either.

The Black + Decker MTC220 is an impressive alternative for people who don’t have enough money to get all the tools they need to tend for the yards or lawns. Coming at a little over $120, this is without a doubt one of the cheapest tools you can find.
I love the fact that it has three modes. I haven’t seen this innovation anywhere else, which stands as proof that Black + Decker is slowly, but surely, moving towards market domination.
I recommend this to anyone that’s not in such a good financial position. You won’t regret buying it, and it will serve you extremely well. You can count on me. I’ve had it for half a year, and it didn’t need maintenance once.
